Meet the app
Ultimate Asset Organizer – Texture Renamer is a light utility for Windows and macOS that helps you tidy up texture libraries before you use them in Blender, Unreal, Unity, or any other workflow.
It focuses on two things: giving your texture set folders clear names, and making texture filenames consistent so tools can recognize them more reliably.
- Standalone app for Windows and macOS. Just download and launch
- Free to download and use across both platforms
- Preview changes first, then apply when you are happy
- Optional cleanup tools for removing non image extras
Why you might want it
If you download materials from different sources, you have probably seen folders like “Final”, “new”, “textures 4k”, and filenames that do not match each other.
Texture Renamer helps when you want to:
- Standardize a library so it stays easy to browse and search
- Prepare texture packs for asset library workflows
- Reduce import errors caused by inconsistent naming
- Make large packs readable without manual renaming
It is made to be simple: pick a folder, preview the result, then apply.
Key features
Everything is built around safe, predictable changes and clear previews.
Two naming modes
You can rename texture set folders in two ways:
- Category and Subcategory: a clean pattern like “Metal Rusty 01” that you can reuse across packs
- Group existing: keeps the feel of the current folder names but makes them consistent and numbered
Texture file renaming
Optionally rename texture files inside each set so maps follow a consistent pattern. This helps other tools detect the right maps without extra work.
Subfolder selection
If your root folder contains many sets, you can choose which subfolders to process instead of running everything at once.
Preview and log
You can preview the planned changes before applying them. A log keeps track of what happened so you can double check results.
Cleanup folders
The cleanup tool can help you remove extra non image files and leftover folders inside texture sets, so only the images remain.
How it works
In plain terms, the app scans a root folder that contains your texture sets as subfolders.
- You choose the root folder and the sets you want to process
- You choose a naming mode and any optional settings
- You preview the results
- You apply changes when you are ready
The goal is a library that looks consistent and behaves predictably across tools.

Texture Renamer is distributed as a standalone executable. There is nothing to install.
