- Renames textures inside 1K/2K/4K/8K folders.
- Adds the resolution tag to filenames (e.g.
_4k). - Supports multiple naming modes (numbered base vs clean base).
Because TextureRenamer is not “notarized” by Apple, you will see a security warning.
To run the app, you must manually grant it trust:
- Drag and drop the app into your Applications folder.
- Control + click (or right click) the app and select Open.
- In the warning popup, click Open again.
After this first launch, the app will run normally.
Meet the app
Ultimate Asset Organizer – Texture Renamer is a small utility that helps you batch rename texture folders and texture files into a clean, consistent format so you can use them in Blender, Unreal, Unity, or any other workflow.
It focuses on two things: giving your texture set folders clear names, and keeping texture filenames consistent so tools can recognize them more reliably.
- Standalone app for Windows and macOS. Just download and launch
- Free to download and use across both platforms
What’s included
- Rename folders and textures using selectable naming modes
- Optionally remove unwanted words from names
- Dry Run preview before applying any changes
- Resolution aware renaming (1K/2K/4K/8K) when your main folders include resolution subfolders
Quick start
- Choose your root folder (the folder that contains your material folders).
- Pick your naming mode.
- (Optional) Remove unwanted words.
- Run Dry Run to preview the result.
- Click Rename to apply changes.
Naming modes
Pick how your base names are generated. The app supports multiple naming modes so you can match different pipelines.
Remove tokens
This option lets you remove unwanted words (like “preview” or “final”) from generated names.
Dry Run / Preview
Dry Run shows a preview of folder and file renames without making any changes. Use it to spot name conflicts and check the final format.
Tips for best results
- Use Dry Run first to avoid conflicts.
- Keep naming consistent across your library.
- Use fewer base words if names become too long.
